Through his compositions, Wil Offermans has become known for his creative and contemporary approach both in concert as well as in teaching. Major inspiration he gathered during his concert tours around the world, especially to Asia and Japan, where his music has been received with great enthusiasm. Offermans studied at the Brabants Conservatory, Holland classical flute and improvisation. Next he made a 7-month world-wide flute-performance Round About 12.5, which took him to 18 countries. In duo with Junko Ueda (biwa & voice) he performed e.g. intensively in the US and Canada, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Colombia and Indonesia at festivals like Festival d'été de Quebec; Musique Action Nancy and the Singapore Festival of Arts.

Wil Offermans has been awarded with the Kuiper prize 2002 of the Dutch Flute Society. He is founder of the Contemporary European Flute Ensemble eWave for which he composed OnTheMove (2004; commission Gaudeamus). In 2014 he composed Eternal Winds for 500 flutes for the anniversary concert of the Dutch Flute Academy of Emily Beynon.

He has presented his flute workshops and masterclasses intensively at among others: University of Music, Vienna; Guildhall School of Music, London; RNCM Manchester; Trinity College London; Royal Conservatory The Hague; Hochschule Hamburg; New England Conservatory Boston; Senzoku Music College Tokyo; Shanghai Conservatory and at flute festival in USA, Germany, UK, Holland, Belgium, Swiss, Norway, Spain and Japan. He recorded on E-Records, BVHaast, VDE-Gallo and developed the Thumpy® flute as enjoyable alternative for both flutists and children.
